Work published in 'Shelter in Place' collection feat. artist mothers during the Coronavirus Pandemic

I am very excited to announce my inclusion in the publication 'Shelter in Place: Artist Mothers Work' a compilation of visual and written work created during and addressing motherhood in the first six months of quarantine, edited by Tulika Ladsariya and Angela Lopez.

I met Angela years ago through both of our organizing around artist mothers. Angela is one of the lead organizers of Extended Practice, along with Sara Holwerda, an artist-led collaborative project created to support and make visible the work and needs of artist mothers.

I invited both Sara and Angela to my We, Family gathering a few years back, and now over the years we stay in touch.

My work included, '(anger became a mountain)', is a watercolor and accompanying poem that addresses their prompt of motherhood in quarantine. I am always appreciative of call for submissions of themed work because sometimes it's just what I need to kick myself into gear of making work. This timely publication will be one we remember forever, I am so grateful for Tulika and Angela for their creativity and initiative to organize and execute this collection. You can view the piece on my drawings page.

Shelter in Place contributors include Elan Candiz, Karen Dana, Anna Binto Dialo, Vanessa Filley, Marnie Galloway, Noelle Garcia, Megan Hildebrandt, Heraa Khan, Sara Knan, Tulika Ladsariya, Angela Lopez, A.Martinez, Jessica Mueller, Galina Shevchenko, and Corrie Thompson.

You can purchase a softcover copy $15 or a PDF version online for $5. I encourage you to buy one for a mother you love who is raising a child in quarantine!

It's an honor to be included in this compilation.
