For the last 6 months or so, I've been collaborating with my friend and colleague Wisdom Baty on her vision, Wild Yams. Wild Yams is a cohort and residency of black mother creatives and artists from the Southside, currently housed by and in collaboration with the Cre.æ.tive Room, a beautiful artist space in Grand Crossing, operated by the gracious Clemenstien Love. Wild Yams is about connection, support, and honoring our labor, our rest, and our dreams as mothers and creatives.
At the end of August we opened our group show 'The Work is the Process" which showcases work by many in the group. It's up at the Cre.æ.tive Room for a few more weeks.
